A. Support a local community in Nicaragua
Work on infrastructure repair and maintenance in a community´s primary school. Support the community also by helping in different tasks at the school and working in agricultural activities at the school´s garden. In addition, help in agricultural and farm activities in the Nature Reserve close by which is supporting this local community, while learning about their organic techniques to use them at the school.
Project work: Help in infrastructure work in a community and work in farming at a nearby Nature Reserve.
B. Sea turtle conservation program
Help in program destined to protect the Tora turtle (Dermochelys coriácea), an endangered species. The turtle population located in the Pacific Ocean (from México to Chile) has suffered a particularly severe decline in numbers and most colonies here have disappeared. Various actions have now been set up on the beaches where they nest to monitor and protect them, encouraging community participation and working to raise awareness.
Project work: work in different tasks such as monitoring turtles, gathering data, collecting eggs and patrolling the beach at night.
During hatching season: cleaning of pens, temperature control, control of nests, baby turtle weighing, freeing of baby turtles.
