During this program we will visit different communities that show how they develop their businesses and what kind of support they are receiving from the different organizations. We will immerse ourselves into the lives of small farmers that are struggling to generate income and have access to the market by selling their products (e.g. wool and honey). Small urban communities, which make and sell products such as textiles and wood crafts, also share their view during the talks.
Furthermore we will get to know the life of small enterprises that have succeeded in achieving Fairtrade certification. We will learn about Fairtrade: an alternative approach to conventional trade based on a partnership between producers and consumers. Fairtrade offers producers a better deal and improved terms of trade. This gives them the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future. The goal is to understand the concept of fair trade, its achievements and challenges.
